with NA

January 21 (Wednesday)
at 1:00 pm

Class length
120 minutes

Venue
The Studio, 91 Wilsons Rd Mornington

This 2-hour workshop will begin with the whole group learning Qigong Stick followed by Long Form Part 1.
We will then divide into four smaller groups, with each group rotating between the Session Leaders. Every 15 minutes you’ll move to the next ‘station’, so by the end of the workshop you will have learned from all four Leaders. It’s a great opportunity to ‘try before you commit’ to next year’s Friday sessions.

This Tai Chi Taster is best suited to participants with some tai chi experience.

Qigong Stick

Using a stick to create gentle, flowing movements this Qigong form helps calm the mind, improve posture, release tension, and cultivate inner strength. This session focuses on ease, softness, and the natural flow of energy through the body, leaving you feeling centred, refreshed, and quietly energised.

Long Form Part 1

Immerse yourself in the classic Yang Long Form, starting with Part 1—the foundation of structure, flow, and inner calm. Gentle, continuous, and meditative, this form cultivates balance, posture, and presence through sustained, mindful movement. A beautiful introduction to the essence of traditional Tai Chi.

Chen Short Form with Tony Weston

Discover the roots of Tai Chi with the dynamic and expressive Chen Short Form. Known for its spiral energy, coiling movements, softness blended with hidden power, and graceful transitions, this form introduces you to Tai Chi’s original style. Experience grounded strength, fluid motion, and the beauty of silk reeling energy in action.

32 Sword with Nigel Graham

Step into the elegance of Tai Chi Sword, where mindfulness meets precision. The 32 Sword Form combines grace, focus, and flowing energy, offering balance, coordination, and a sense of quiet strength. Learn how the sword becomes an extension of the body, moving with intention, calmness, and spirit.

Martial Applications with Valdi Kapelis

Explore the practical side of Tai Chi. In this session, you’ll look at how the internal principles—rooting, softness, yielding, redirecting, and controlled power—translate into real movement and partner-based applications. Gentle, safe, and insightful, this session reveals how Tai Chi's slow movements carry deep martial wisdom.

Kung Fu Fan Sifu Jenny

A vibrant and expressive form that combines Tai Chi principles with the rhythm, strength, and theatrical flair of the fan. The opening and snapping movements create a clear focus of intention, while flowing steps and graceful transitions cultivate posture, balance, and coordination. Beautiful, dynamic, and full of spirit, Kung Fu Fan is a joyful form to both learn and perform.
